Grace Made Me (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes daily devotional writing at gracemademe.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Information You Give Us
Prayer requests
If you submit a prayer request, we collect the name and the request text you enter. Every request is reviewed by a person before anything happens with it.
Please read this part carefully. Approved prayer requests are published on this website so that others can pray for them, together with the name you gave. Anyone can read them, and search engines may index them. So:
- Share only what you are content for the world to see. A first name alone is fine.
- Please do not include another person’s full name, address, medical details or any other information that identifies them without their agreement.
- You can ask us to take a request down at any time and we will remove it.
Comments
When you leave a comment we store the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser user agent — the last two to help detect spam. Your comment and the name you gave are displayed publicly; your email address is not.
Email subscription
If you give us your email address to receive the daily devotional, we use it for that and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Information Collected Automatically
- Server logs. Our host records the usual request information — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time.
- The “pray” button. When you mark a prayer request as prayed for, we store a short-lived scrambled record derived from your IP address, purely so the same visitor cannot inflate the count. It expires within an hour and is not used to identify you.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which devotionals people find helpful and how visitors reach the site. It sets cookies and processes your IP address, truncated so the full address is not stored. You can read how Google handles it in the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Consent
A cookie is a small piece of information a website stores in your browser. We use them to remember your preferences and, with your permission, for analytics.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies are not set until you agree to them. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser. Elsewhere, you can decline through the notice shown on the site, or set your browser to refuse cookies altogether.
Advertising
We do not currently display advertising on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy before any advertising cookies are used, and we will ask for consent where it is required.
Why We Are Allowed to Use It
For visitors in the EEA and the UK, our legal bases are:
- Consent — analytics cookies, email subscription, and publishing a prayer request you have chosen to send us.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site running and secure, moderating what is published, and preventing spam and abuse.
Who Else Sees It
We share personal information only with the providers who make the site work — our web host, our email provider, and Google Analytics — and where the law requires us to. We do not sell your personal information and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers.
Remember that prayer requests and comments, once approved, are published on the site and are visible to everyone.
How Long We Keep It
Comments and approved prayer requests remain on the site until you or we remove them. Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short operating period. The “pray” record expires within an hour.
Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including taking down a comment or a prayer request. You can withdraw consent at any time. Write to us using the details below and we will act on it. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Sites
We sometimes link to Bible translations, ministries and other resources. Once you leave gracemademe.com, that site’s own privacy practices apply, not ours.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
